Jakarta and Jeju Agree on Sister City Cooperation

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Jeju Governor Oh Young-hun formalized a sister city cooperation by signing an MoU at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul. This strategic partnership covers multiple sectors, including tourism, renewable energy, economy, agriculture, and fisheries.

According to Pramono, the collaboration marks a significant move for Jakarta to bolster its global standing.

“Jeju is a strategic partner, especially regarding tourism and sustainable energy development. We aim for this partnership to have a concrete impact on the communities in both regions,” he noted in an official statement released by the Jakarta government, Sunday (4/26).

Pramono Tours Three Nations to Bolster Strategic Partnerships

He expressed confidence that the partnership with Jeju would accelerate Jakarta’s progress toward its goal of becoming one of the top 50 global cities by 2030. The Jakarta government remains dedicated to ensuring a sustainable future for both regions.

“Our commitment is to create a future that is more connected, inclusive, and sustainable for Jakarta and Jeju,” he concluded.
